Temezcal

Temezcal is a Mexican sauna. Two Sundays ago, we enjoyed a Temezcal with a group of friends, . It was located near Cuernavaca in a fancy resort. The experience was a hard one. It was hot in there, real hot...and it got hotter and hotter and hotter. The sauna was led by a shaman who walked us through the entire ceremony. We offered peace to our ancestors and meditated while inhaling the aroma of various herbs. Just before closing, he went around the circle hitting us gently with a branch full eucalyptus leaves dipped in cool water. I can tell you that cool water on our skin was very much welcomed. Temezcal est un sauna mexicain. Il y a deux dimanches, nous avions fais un Temezcal avec un groupe d'amis. C'était situé près de Cuernavaca dans un hotel chic. L'expérience fut plutôt difficile. Il faisait chaud là à l'intérieur, très chaud...et de plus en plus chaud. Il y avait un shaman qui a guidé la cérémonie. Nous avions offert paix à nos ancêtres et médité en inspirant l'arôme de fines herbes. A la fin, le shaman nous frappais doucement avec un branche pleine de feuille d'eucalyptus trampée dans l'eau fraîche. Ca faisait beaucoup de bien!!!
