Protesting at Zocalo

July 2, 2007, Zocalo

I happened to bump into a huge protest as I was walking across La Plaza Zocalo. I found this sight quite amusing at first, but when I talked to a woman about why she was protesting, it wasn’t a laughing matter at all. For the past three months these passive people have been crying out for help by banging on drums and chanting to take back what is rightfully theirs. And you thought that photo artist Spencer Tunick who takes pictures of thousands of naked people in urban settings was impressive! Check out how these folks are attracting public attention to gain their government-stolen-land back! Zocalo
